PsyBooty Records is a label with a mission. Their signature sound carefully rides the line between Psychedelic Trance and House, using the tension between the two - the result of which is dance music that is at all times driving, motivated, surreal, and seriously funky. Not happy to be pinned down to the trappings of Psy-Trance, Progressive Trance or House, PsyBooty’s albums float brazenly between all three.
The music style is a point of personal pride for label head David Justin, who has been carefully crafting it as a producer and DJ for nearly a decade.
The first two compilations the label released, Get The Lead Out and Serve ‘em 2wice, established not only the label’s sound but its willingness to shrug off the conventions of Psy-Trance and Progressive Trance that seem to have put those scenes in a years-long rut.
January saw the release of the label’s first artist album from M-Field, called Current of Life, a stellar Trance album with lush synthetic instrumentation, bookended by two suprising mid-tempo tracks.
