Silent Week
December 26th, 2006posted by: Maer Israel
The last three weeks of December are traditionally completely dark in the music industry. We too decided to take a break this last week to gear up for several things due to be unleashed in January…
First, as a way to thank existing customers (and maybe entice a few new ones) Fake Science will be offering two free compilations beginning January 2 through January 31. Each compilation will have 7 tracks, one will be electronic and the other rock/indie. More info on this will be emailed to customers and posted here on January 2.
We’ve got several new releases in store including a beautiful organic dub album from Kalpataru Tree. The new year’s first Lab Report Podcast will feature this album and give you a taste of KP Tree’s amazing sounds (chill dub with live guitar and bass) with three full tracks.
January will also see the debut release from The Seedling Escape - aka Kitty-D and Ooah. If you haven’t heard of these guys, they’re part of the Glitch-Mob crew (along with edIT, Kraddy, and Boreta) and have been rocking hybrid live/dj sets all over the West: SF, Santa Cruz, LA, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Austin, Denver, and Mexico. They’re recording a fully mixed set of all original glitch-funk material specifically for release on Fake Science. These kids are primed to seize the world stage, and Fake Science will be their first step towards global funk domination.
…there’s more new things on the horizon as well, so check back soon.
